Newsflash

Advisors,  Welcome Back! I hope everyone had a great and productive summer. Now it’s back to work.

It’s time to kick off a new SkillsUSA school year. Attached is our yearly Organizational Memo. Please take a few minutes to read it and refer to it as you update your Course Syllabi to reflect our obligation to teaching, guiding, and modeling leadership and employability skills. We are fortunate to have SkillsUSA as our required CTSO as there is no better way to promote and develop students, partnerships, and programs than full and active SkillsUSA participation. Soon its value will grow further as integrated academics, project-based learning, credentialing, and end-of-course testing expectations evolve.

We are in the planning and updating process at this time. We are evaluating our association resources, both financial and human, as we approach another challenging year. I am confident that your dedication and talent will prevail once more. Next week I will be in Washington DC meeting with other state directors and policy makers. I hope to bring back the shared ideas of many as we are all tasked with keeping our education and workforce development mission a driving force in our communities, states, and nation.

 Let’s plan for a great 2011!
