Hotel Information for Nationals 2008

We will be housed in the Marriott Downtown Kansas City, 200 West 12th Street, Kansas City, MO 64105.  The telephone number 816-421-6800.  Your rooms are reserved through the Alabama SkillsUSA Association on a first-come, first-served basis.  Contestants and delegates will be given top priority.  ALL Alabama contestants, secondary and postsecondary, must stay at this hotel.

Room assignments will be made based on the information contained on your Room Reservation Form List.  Please complete the form by grouping your students, as you want them housed at the conference.  Again, we have a limited number of rooms in our room block, therefore, instructors attending the conference will be housed two per room and high school students are to be assigned in quads (four per room, two beds).  If your student should be assigned to a room with students from other schools, write your student's name on a quad room blank along with the other student's name and school in the remaining blanks to fill up the room. If you do not have rooming preferences, this office will make room assignments. We MUST be made aware of spouses, children, etc. that will be accompanying any attendees; otherwise we assume that the person is alone and we WILL place other contestants or advisors in the room with that person.

You must arrive at the hotel by 6:00 p.m. on June 23^rd because we will have a mandatory meeting at 7:00 p.m. for the entire Alabama delegation.    At this meeting we will be administering the required SkillsUSA Knowledge Test to all contestants.  Dinner will be served at this meeting at no additional cost to all registered attendees of the Alabama delegation. 

Room rates are for check-in June 23rd, 2008 and check-out June 28th.  Anyone wishing to check in earlier or out later must pay for the additional night's lodging directly to the hotel.  Payment must be made directly to the hotel for any additional expenses and incidental charges.  Arrangements on days outside the Alabama SkillsUSA room block are the responsibility of the individual and those reservations are to be made directly with the hotel.

 Rooms are $125.00 including lodging tax.

This cost analysis is for 5 nights, check-in on June 23rd and checkout on June 28th. If you plan to arrive early or stay past the end of the block of rooms, you must make the arrangements on your own with the hotel.  Alabama SkillsUSA is only responsible for the room block during the conference.
